Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence.  Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

Presenting: Trailers to the sequel to the massively successful 2018 film that stunned audiences into silence.

The Official trailer is below, released January 1, 2020. From Youtube and Paramount Pictures.

A Quiet Place 2.  Official 2021 release date is APRIL 23, 2021, as confirmed by Variety.

They are back. The Abbott family returns to the screen, with Emily Blunt guiding her family to a new home, and writer-director John Krasinski taking the audience back to the first day of the alien invasion. The film seeks to enlarge the scale of this terrifying story with flashbacks and an expanded cast.

Initially scheduled with a release date of  March 20, 2020, it’s release was put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and as of this past summer it was announced that it’s new release date would be April 23, 2021.

A Quiet Place” was one of the great surprises of 2018, and truly one of the most enjoyable and entertaining theater-going events in recent years. This deeply satisfying and chilling film was a box office sensation, grossing more than $340 million globally. Packed movie theater audiences found themselves part of the story as each person watching desperately tried to keep themselves as quiet in their seats as possible, echoing the Abbott family’s attempts to survive in absolute silence on the screen.

Emily Blunt, reprising her role as Evelyn Abbott, is now the family leader. With her two children by her side, Evelyn abandons their farmhouse home, seeking a new haven, now armed with the knowledge on what it takes to kill the alien monstrosities.

“A Quiet Place” implied that the majority of the world’s population has been wiped out by the creatures, though we rarely viewed the world they lived in beyond their farm land real estate.

This time it’s apparent we’ll travel into new areas of the country, as the movie trailer introduces two characters Evelyn will run into, played by Cillian Murphy ( Batman Begins, Inception, Peaky Blinders) and Djimon Hounsou (Gladiator, In America, Blood Diamond).

From everything the trailers offer, it’s clear the theme of this film will be the threats presented by other human beings, not just the alien monsters.

The first “A Quiet Place” film was directed by Krasinski; he didn’t write the screenplay, as it was written by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck. But John was involved in re-writing parts of the script, and really showed off his direction skills with this one. The movie was a major player during the 2018 awards season, leading to awards such as Emily Blunt’s win for Best Supporting Actor by the Screen Actor’s Guild, and the Critic’s Choice Award for Best Sci-fi/Horror movie of the year. The writing team for “A Quiet Place ” was nominated for Best Original Screenplay by the Writer’s Guild of America, losing out to A24’s Eighth Grade.

For “Part 2” John Krasinski has full screenplay writing credits and is again behind the camera as it’s the director. From the trailers, you can see he will appear in the movie, as it takes the audience all the way back to ‘Day 1’ of the alien’s invasion.

The trailers do a fantastic job of re-creating the terror of the first movie. With the added drama of finding out what it was like to be there when the monsters starting wreaking havoc across the land, plus the introduction of new and potentially dangerous characters, there is much to look forward to when this film finally, and we have say hopefully, get’s it’s global release in April of 2021.
